Child Care Benefit & Child Care Rebate

Child Care Benefit

Child Care Benefit -CCB – is a payment made by the Commonwealth Government to assist families with the cost of child care. Eligibility for this payment is determined by Centrelink’s Family Assistance Office.

After Centrelink has received and processed your application, The Range Children’s Centre will then be notified of the percentage of fees which must be paid by the parent. Parents can opt to claim their CCB on their daily fees, or make a bulk claim at the end of the financial year. Further information and application forms for CCB are available from your Team Leader.

Child Care Rebate

Child Care Rebate is different to Child Care Benefit. To receive Child Care Rebate you must first claim Child Care Benefit for approved child care and be eligible for that payment (even at the zero rate.) Child Care Benefit is based on your income and is different for everyone.

Child Care Rebate is paid in addition to Child Care Benefit and covers 50 per cent of out-of-pocket child-care expenses, up to a maximum amount per child per year. If you claim and are eligible for Child Care Benefit–approved child care and you and your partner meet the Child Care Rebate “work, training, study test” (or are exempt from it), you may be eligible for Child Care Rebate.  For more information, visit Centrelink.  If you are eligible for CCR, please provide The Range with your customer reference number (CRN) for each child and preferred rebate method. The parent’s or guardian’s and child’s DOB (Date of Birth) is required for all enrolments. Your CRN is required so that the Range Children’s Centre can provide Centrelink with a statement of usage in order for families to receive the CCR.

Please note:

Although the forms are available from The Range Children’s Centre at the time of enrolment, the application and renewals for CCB are the SOLE responsibility of the family.
